Doha, SANA - Qatar called on the United Nations last night to work to convince Israel to withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan and the still occupied Lebanese territories, stop its continued violations of Lebanese airspace and to implement its obligations under the road map and international legitimacy represented by the relevant UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
" Israel's contined policy of aggression, siege and starvation of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, hampers efforts to achieve comprehensive peace in the occupied Palestinian territories and is a grave violation of all laws, agreements principles and ethics," Qatari News Agency quoted Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Nasser as saying in a speech during the Security Council's open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.
He stressed that the Israeli siege of Gaza threatens the lives of hundreds of Gaza residents including dozens of children as well as obstructs efforts of the relief.
Al-Nasser touched upon the Jewish settlers' terrorist practices against defenseless Palestinian civilians in Hebron which contradict the international humanitarian law and the Geneva 4th Convention on the protection of civilians.
