Hundreds of powerful US “bunker-buster” bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.
The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 “Blu” bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.
Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Iran’s controversial nuclear facilities. There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack, should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran not to make nuclear weapons.
Although Diego Garcia is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, it is used by the US as a military base under an agreement made in 1971. The agreement led to 2,000 native islanders being forcibly evicted to the Seychelles and Mauritius.
The Sunday Herald reported in 2007 that stealth bomber hangers on the island were being equipped to take bunker-buster bombs.
They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran Dan Plesch, director, Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy, University of London
Although the story was not confirmed at the time, the new evidence suggests that it was accurate.
Contract details for the shipment to Diego Garcia were posted on an international tenders’ website by the US navy.
A shipping company based in Florida, Superior Maritime Services, will be paid $699,500 to carry many thousands of military items from Concord, California, to Diego Garcia.
Crucially, the cargo includes 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.
“They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran,” said Dan Plesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, co-author of a recent study on US preparations for an attack on Iran. “US bombers are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours,” he added.
The preparations were being made by the US military, but it would be up to President Obama to make the final decision. He may decide that it would be better for the US to act instead of Israel, Plesch argued.
“The US is not publicising the scale of these preparations to deter Iran, tending to make confrontation more likely,” he added. “The US ... is using its forces as part of an overall strategy of shaping Iran’s actions.”
According to Ian Davis, director of the new independent thinktank, Nato Watch, the shipment to Diego Garcia is a major concern. “We would urge the US to clarify its intentions for these weapons, and the Foreign Office to clarify its attitude to the use of Diego Garcia for an attack on Iran,” he said.
For Alan Mackinnon, chair of Scottish CND, the revelation was “extremely worrying”. He stated: “It is clear that the US government continues to beat the drums of war over Iran, most recently in the statements of Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
“It is depressingly similar to the rhetoric we heard prior to the war in Iraq in 2003.”
The British Ministry of Defence has said in the past that the US government would need permission to use Diego Garcia for offensive action. It has already been used for strikes against Iraq during the 1991 and 2003 Gulf wars.
About 50 British military staff are stationed on the island, with more than 3,200 US personnel. Part of the Chagos Archipelago, it lies about 1,000 miles from the southern coasts of India and Sri Lanka, well placed for missions to Iran.
The US Department of Defence did not respond to a request for a comment.

they should ask themselves the question: if shock and awe didn't work with Iraq and Afghanistan; two countries that did not have any kind of air defences or other powerful defensive weapons, what makes them think that it is going to work with Iran?
There is no way that america is going to bomb Iran to bits as it did Iraq and come out of the exercise unscathed. There is going to be massive destruction done to the american military if they get so stupid to attack Iran and if israel ever makes the mistake and get into the fray, there will be never ending war on this planet.
I am not going to be predicting any winners but one thing I know is: america and israel will never be the same afterwards. Those folks over there if they know that their governments are planning this misadventure had better move out and look for an anti-war destination.

the Iranians are preparing for an attack. They would be stupid if they didn't do so because after seeing what happened to their nextdoor neighbours, common sense should dictate that they are also on the axis of evil list and at some point in time, the criminal US would get around to them.
Don't worry uncle sam, your days for inflicting wars on this planet are slowly but surely coming to an end. Despite all your technology, terrestrial and extraterrestrial; HAARP and tesla technology; laser beam weapons and all the other ones that I cannot name, there is something that you americans fail to recognize; you can never defeat the human will as long as it decides to prevail. No matter how many earthquakes, or other severe weather systems you trigger, it is all going to come right back home to you one day coming sooner than you think. No longer are people afraid of US; and that is half the job required to defeat this evil leviathan. The unsinkable american titanic will soon by its own arrogant and self-serving interests, destroy itself on the oil-berg of the middle east.

If this is true, then its has been done a long time ago by (GWB who are) more qualified politically in person (that never qualified to receive/having a Nobel peace price) than Barack Husein Obama who won a Noble award for peace.
If the story is true not just bluffing then what a joke that a Nobel laureated president giving an order to its armed forces commander to bomb a peaceful country (Iran) that never attack or invade other countries, instead having nuclear research facilities for peaceful purpose.

Report: US Sending Massive Amounts of Weaponry to Diego Garcia
Hundreds of Bunker-Buster Bombs Seen Threatening Iran Strike
by Jason Ditz, March 15, 2010
Reports emerged this weekend from Scotland’s Sunday Herald that the US government has contracted with a Florida company to ship a massive amount of weaponry, including hundreds of bunker buster bombs, to Diego Garcia.
Diego Garcia, a small island in the Indian Ocean, was depopulated by Britain in the 1960’s and 1970’s, and transferred to the United States as a military base. The island’s proximity to Iran suggests it may be used as a staging ground for US air strikes against the nation.
The proximity is not lost on Iran’s state media, which is reporting that the bunker-busters are a clear move to threaten Iran’s nuclear facilities. The US has repeatedly threatened to attack Iran over its civilian nuclear program.
The Sunday Herald report also cites numerous experts as saying that the lack of publicity for the move, just one of several examples of the Obama Administration adding major amounts of weaponry to the area around Iran, suggests they believe a confrontation is more likely. The Pentagon has thus far refused to comment.

Bunker busters are a load of bunk that's been busted ages ago, with a few simple calculations. They won't even leave a burn mark. It's a fantasy technology that the USA does not posses, instead using it as some kind of psychological weapon.

the straight of Hormuz will be mined rendered itu useless for oil and gas out of the Persian gulf and the battle will intensified in this narrow straight. No fuel, food and commercial flight (as they will be presumed as intelegence gathering vehicle) for the whole Persian gulf littoral states as well as supply for US troops in Iraq, we will see more Strella, Igla S and RPG 27 in Taliban freedom fighters in Afganistan, the whole middle east will be at war and no more kingdom and sheikdom anymore if there is afterward in the region. Starting war is easy does it but stopping it in particular war with iran will take century to subside and at least 50 years.

Diego Garcia bunker-busters meant to threaten Iran
Mon, 15 Mar 2010 22:57:08 GMT
The Sunday Herald has reported that hundreds of powerful US "bunker-buster" bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia.
In January, the US government signed a contract to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island, the Scottish newspaper wrote on March 14.
According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 “Blu-110” and "Blu-117" bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures. Crucially, the cargo included 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.
Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Iran's nuclear facilities, added the newspaper.
There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran to halt uranium enrichment.
Although Diego Garcia is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, it is used by the US as a military base under an agreement made in 1971. The agreement led to 2,000 native islanders being forcibly evicted to the Seychelles and Mauritius.
The Sunday Herald reported in 2007 that stealth bomber hangers on Diego Garcia Island were being equipped to accommodate bunker-buster bombs.
Although the story was not confirmed at the time, the new evidence suggests that it was accurate, the latest edition of the Sunday Herald said.
A shipping company based in Florida, Superior Maritime Services, will be paid $699,500 to carry many thousands of military items from Concord, California to Diego Garcia.
"The US is not publicizing the scale of these preparations to deter Iran, tending to make confrontation more likely," the Sunday Herald quoted Dan Plesch, the director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, as saying.
"The US… is using its forces as part of an overall strategy of shaping Iran's actions," he added.
According to Ian Davis, the director of the new independent think tank NATO Watch, the shipment to Diego Garcia is a major concern. “We would urge the US to clarify its intentions for these weapons, and the Foreign Office to clarify its attitude to the use of Diego Garcia for an attack on Iran,” he said.
The British Ministry of Defense has said in the past that the US government would need permission to use Diego Garcia for offensive action.
However, the US military used Diego Garcia as a base to attack Iraq in 1991 and 2003.
About 50 British military personnel are stationed on the island and over 3,200 US troops.

So who do you listen to??
Hundreds of powerful US “bunker-buster” bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in
the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.
This story in front of ...
US ponders denying Israel arms needed for Iran war
With Israel making apparent efforts to build a case for war on Tehran, the Obama administration reportedly considers denying Tel Aviv the military items needed for an attack on Iranian nuclear sites.
Here's how I'd read these two stories.
US official Robert Gates "US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has refused to follow up on Israeli calls to this day"???
Gates doesn't want to let the world know that he's already past the bunker busters to Israel by way of a back door, so he makes it look like the US are resisting Israel's efforts and sends them to Diego Garcia ... to be shipped on in time.
There's a cranking lot of reports coming out right now about a buildup ready against Iran.
It's going down, get ahead of it.
"IS" get the fuck out of Iran, or at least get out of any oil or nuclear site area.
Having someone like you on the ground in the country would be great during the first waves of attack but you're no bloody good to us dead.
Once the attack begins you won't get out at all.
WWW access will be cut and along with it access to email so you need to be out now.
Please bro get out.

the Chinese refused to talk to the Israelis on cue. The international financial powers are ready to bury the USA. An attack on Iran would give the Chinese the excuse to bomb the dollar. Since the dollar is the international reserve currency at present, this will also be a bomb on the rest of the West. This war will not be about the middle east. It will be about international power. The international Jewish (Phariseeac) mafia is ready to burn the joint known as the west down. Ultimately, it is a war on Jesus Christ and what he has tried to build in this world. But guess what, the Jewish (Phariseeac) mafia will lose.

If the report is true, then just why Diego Garcia ?
The US airbase on this island is nearly 3000 nautical miles
(5500 km) away from Iran.
There is no advantage for such a long flight path, as contrary
to Iraq, Iran has sophisticated Radar at his disposal.
Nowadays, it is also possible to even detect 'Stealth' bombers
at a relatively early moment. 'Stealth' does not mean air
dominance anymore.
But the main reason, why it would be foolish to attack Iran,
is world's oil supply.
Iran would be able to close the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian
Gulf relatively easy, with simple means and only a minimum of
militarian effort, by relentlessly sinking every single super tanker
who wants to pass the Strait of Hormuz.
In a matter of hours, the oil price would shoot through the roof,
and major parts of the world economy would gnashingly grind to
a halt.
There is a map somewhere on the net, where the flight path is
depicted quite clearly.
Just a moment please, ok, now I've been finding it again:

a massive blitz is the only way the US could screw Iran without screwing the world oil supplies.
Something of a scale and speed that would make the 2003 shock and awe on Iraq look like a mere little fireworks.
So it seems this is what they are preparing... and I am thinking they have got the capability to do it.

for country with no air defense and most of the pilots have been lobotomized by pulling their coward nerves out of the brain. The first bomb exploded in Iranian soil straight of Hormuz will by mined by Iran and a lot of tanker nomatter who own it will be made sunk in the Gulf of Persian, afterward there is no Arab kingdom or Sheikdom which is pretty good since monarch no longer fit in this modern days.

When the first blip of this "blitz" appears on Iran's radar, 15 minutes and a phone call later, IsraHell will be a green smoked glass parking lot and the gulf will no longer be accessible to the world. Within 24 hours, you can expect an Iranian ground invasion of Iraq and strikes on all American interests in the middle east. IsraHell will retaliate not only against Iran and Syria, but against Europe as well (check their Shamshoon strategy against the "gentiles"). If it gets intense enough, it can easily escalate into World War III, the shortest war in history.
Thus, this scenario will never eventuate. The USSA had been pressuring IsraHell to sacrifice themselves and attack alone, but Iran has already told the US — an attack by IsraHell will be interpreted as an attack by you. In response to this Brzezinski warned IsraHell that the USSA was willing to shoot down their jets to avoid sparking a war.
So things are a lot calmer than they would have you believe — thus this hysteria in the media about weapons that don't exist being shipped off to an island that is within Iran's long range missile's reach. It's just psychological warfare against Iran's citizens. You make them think they're on the losing side so that they might betray their own country.
@dit
I don't think IsraHell is stupid enough to attack now. I'm still hoping they're dumb enough to attack Lebanon and face a counter-assault that will literally destroy them as a state.
