At least 4 guards of a private security company were killed on Saturday in a road-side mine blast in the central Maidan Wardak province

The incident happened at 10 am on Saturday when the company's vehicle was hit by a road-side mine blast in the province's Sayed Abad district, a spokesman for the governor of Maidan Wardak, Shahedullah Shahed told TOLOnews.

Road-side mines are planted by insurgents to target Afghan and foreign soldiers, in which most victims are civilians.

Private security companies are mostly responsible for the transportation of the foreign forces' cargos.

On his visit to the Institute of Civil Services in Kabul on Saturday, the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai accused the foreigners of serious illegal actions against Afghanistan's national sovereignty.

Karzai said the private security firms are one of the causes of insecurity in the country, and besides urging the foreigners to ban these companies, called that details of contracts among Afghan firms and foreign forces should be unveiled.

"Private security firms daily bring misfortune to our country. They step over the rights of our people, they deteriorate our security," he said.

"God knows they may commit robbery and block ways during the day and turn into insurgents at night," he added.

Although these companies were previously an issue of concern among Afghan officials, the president has now seriously asked for a ban on the activities of these companies.
