Iran currently exports 25 million cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey per day.
Turkey‎ ‎has‎ ‎paid‎ ‎a‎ ‎fine‎ ‎of‎ ‎around‎ ‎‎6‎‎0‎‎0‎‎ ‎million‎ ‎dollars‎ ‎to‎ ‎Iran‎ ‎for‎ ‎breaching‎ ‎a‎ ‎contract‎ ‎for‎ ‎importing‎ ‎‎3‎‎0‎‎ ‎million‎ ‎cubic‎ ‎meters‎ ‎of‎ ‎Iranian‎ ‎gas‎ ‎per‎ ‎day‎.‎

Turkey‎'‎s‎ ‎BOTAS‎ ‎Petroleum‎ ‎Pipeline‎ ‎Corporation‎ ‎paid‎ ‎the‎ ‎fine‎ ‎to‎ ‎the‎ ‎National‎ ‎Iranian‎ ‎Gas‎ ‎Company‎ ‎‎(‎NIGC‎)‎‎ ‎for‎ ‎importing‎ ‎Iranian‎ ‎gas‎ ‎‎"‎at‎ ‎a‎ ‎rate‎ ‎smaller‎ ‎than‎ ‎was‎ ‎previously‎ ‎agreed‎ ‎between‎ ‎the‎ ‎two‎ ‎companies‎,"‎‎ ‎Mehr‎ ‎news‎ ‎agency‎ ‎reported‎.‎

Under‎ ‎a‎ ‎‎2‎‎3‎‎-‎year‎ ‎deal‎,‎‎ ‎Turkey‎ ‎is‎ ‎obliged‎ ‎to‎ ‎import‎ ‎‎3‎‎0‎‎ ‎million‎ ‎cubic‎ ‎meters‎ ‎of‎ ‎Iranian‎ ‎gas‎ ‎per‎ ‎day‎ ‎but‎ ‎BOTAS‎ ‎averagely‎ ‎imported‎ ‎‎2‎‎5‎‎ ‎million‎ ‎cubic‎ ‎meters‎ ‎per‎ ‎day‎ ‎during‎ ‎the‎ ‎past‎ ‎Iranian‎ ‎calendar‎ ‎year‎ ‎‎(‎ended‎ ‎March‎ ‎‎2‎‎0‎‎)‎‎.‎

Iran‎ ‎pumped‎ an ‎amount‎ ‎of‎ ‎‎6‎‎.‎‎8‎‎ ‎billion‎ ‎cubic‎ ‎meters‎ ‎of‎ ‎natural‎ ‎gas‎ ‎to‎ ‎Turkey‎ ‎during‎ ‎the‎ ‎past‎ ‎year‎.‎
