Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu refuted accusations that his country supported the "flotilla of freedom" coming in the Gaza Strip, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a few days ago, the Xinhua News correspondent reported from Ankara.

Davutoglu said that Israel must bear responsibility for the attack on the humanitarian convoy.

"Israel must bear responsibility for the murder of innocent civilians in open seas and not blame us," Davutoglu said at a press conference held jointly with Belgian Deputy Foreign Minister Steven Vanaker, who is on visit to Ankara.

The Israeli commission of inquiry into the attack on the international fleet Aug.9, conducted hearings at which Netanyahu said that the Israeli forces' actions was in accordance with international law. He also accused Turkey of trying to extract profit from this conflict.

May 31, the Israeli Navy intercepted in the Mediterranean Sea an international flotilla of humanitarian aid sealing to the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military went on the court and came into conflict with the activists of the fleet, leaving nine people were killed and dozens more were injured. The international community has strongly called for a joint investigation into the incident, but the Israeli side had long refused outside help, in any form, referring to the fact that it is able to conduct own investigation. But last week, Israel, under the international pressure, agreed to holding of the UN investigation into the attack.

Davutoglu said that the results of the UN investigation will be assessed.
