Kosovo government threatens violence against Serb rebels

Kosovo government says it may resort to violence if Serbs attempt to declare independence in the north of the region or join Serbia, stated Kosovo's Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi.

He said, Kosovo has already briefed the International Civilian Office headed by Pieter Feith on the situation.

The statement was a commenton the so-called Independence Declaration of Serbian Territories in Kosovo published by the Association of Municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija in local papers.

The declaration describes the Republic of Kosovo as a state created by genocide committed against non-Albanians.
