Thousands of Afghans have stormed a NATO-led base in northwestern Afghanistan following the killing of an Afghan soldier by US-led forces there.
Protesters set afire one section of the base that is run by Spanish troops in Qalay-e Naw, the provincial capital of Badghis province near the border with Turkmenistan, according to witnesses.
The massive protest was triggered when the US-led foreign forces in the area killed a local Afghan soldier.
The US-led troops inside the base reportedly opened fire on the protesters, wounding several people, Reuters said.
A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force provided no details about the incident, saying that it was still checking.
