Taliban attacked and put two US forces' supply vehicles on fire Wednesday afternoon in central Afghanistan

"The incident occured when the first tanker of the US forces slipped and was diverted from the road at 05:30pm Wednesday and then the Taliban used the opportunity to burn the other tanker," Din Muhammad Darwish, a spokesman for the governor of Logar told TOLOnews.

The Taliban reportedly re-attacked after police forces arrived in the area, in which two police soldiers were killed.

Taliban have taken responsibility for the attack, claiming that Afghan and foreign forces have received heavy casualties.

The United States military officials have not commented about the incident so far.

Afghan private security companies are responsible for the transportation of NATO cargoes in Afghanistan.

The convoys of the Afghan private security companies are often attacked and burnt by insurgents, especially in the country's volatile regions.
