Sniper Kills U.S. Occupation Soldier in Tikrit

A sniper killed a U.S. occupation soldier in central Tikrit today, raising the U.S. fatalities in August to four soldiers. According to police sources the incident occurred during the visit of the U.S. occupation command in Salah el-Din to the police station in central Tikrit on the occasion of the end of U.S. occupation combat troops’ mission in Iraq.

The death has brought to 4.417 the number of U.S. occupation soldiers killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, including 47 in 2010.
