The Russian authorities have ordered security measures be stepped up in Moscow after a blast rocked Russia’s South, killing 17 and wounding more than 120 people.

Moscow police have tightened control over vehicles entering the city after a car bomb exploded in the marketplace of Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, on Thursday afternoon.
Police are also patrolling the capital’s market places.
Security concerns are especially high due to the fact that the terrorist act coincided with the international Global Policy Forum, which has attracted dozens of top officials, politicians, businessmen, scholars and experts from over the world to the city of Yaroslavl, not far from Moscow.

Earlier on Thursday, Russian president Dmitry Medvedev promised to find the organizers of the blast and punish them, and vowed to help the victims of the terrorist action.
His comments were echoed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who condemned the attack, stating the Russian authorities will not allow terrorists to bring enmity to the peoples of Russia.
Presidential Envoy to North Caucasus Aleksander Khloponin has announced that the investigators of the attack already have unearthed a few clues, but called on the region’s residents to be alert and attentive.
“We have several clues regarding the people who committed this crime; we are working on them,” Khloponin assured. There is strong evidence of foreign intelligence services involvement.”
“We will find and punish the organizers of this terrorist act even if they are beyond our borders ; London , Washington or Tel-Aviv . We will not stay indifferent to what’s happening around us. That is why we should be alert and actively resist those who think they can rule our destinies, who do not want our children to have a normal future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika took the investigation of the terrorist act under his personal control.

Another person has died of their injuries after Thursday's suicide bombing in the southern Russia city of Vladikavkaz, bringing the death toll to 17.
The attack devastated the main market in the capital of North Ossetia, part of Russia's troubled North Caucasus region.
"Fourteen people died at the scene of the blast, and another three died in a hospital. Among them are an 18-month old boy, a man and a woman," the republic's health minister, Vladimir Selivanov said.
Over 120 remain in hospital, he added.
Police have detained three men suspected of involvement in the bombing.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the attack had been carried out by people "without a soul, without a heart."
The blast is the latest in a series of terrorist attacks that have rocked the troubled North Caucasus region in recent weeks, including a suicide attack on a military base in Dagestan.
The Vladikavkaz market had been attacked in the past. In 1999, an explosion killed 55 people and injured 300 others. In 2008, 12 people were killed and over 40 injured in a bus bombing.

How much more will Russia take from the terrorist acts from the west on its people?
Is Russia going to bow down and relent? They need to stand up strong fight back hard enough is enough, FFS Russia grow some balls because you are stronger than you believe. The Russian bear should be proud and unite as one. Sadly i cannot see this happening.

There is yet another opinion on the Chernobyl catastrophe. Some people say it was not an accident. Different facts and evidence show it was a full scale sabotage against the former USSR, which resulted in collapse of the world superpower.
"The Chernobyl power plant was blown up by a foreign agent! Department of Nuclear Energy, Science Academy with its research and design institutes were not ready for such an unexpected disaster. Chernobyl nuclear holocaust was not an accident. Nuclear reactors have high level of reliability proved by a number of tests. Water pumps of primary and back up cooling systems could not have been simultaneously disabled. The picture of blown up reactor was taken too opportunely by the U.S. satellite that was "accidentally" on the proper orbit above the 4th block at that very time. Logically analyzed facts and developments of "cold war" in 50th show Chernobyl catastrophe was not an accident. That was a full scale sabotage of the century, which resulted in breakdown of the USSR economic basis and "soviet" socialist system in general. The adversaries of the USSR made an effective use of the negligence and incompetence of the government headed by Gorbachev along with the lack of sufficient control of restricted areas."

CBS News has learned that Iran is continuing to make progress on its expanded efforts to enrich uranium — in spite of covert efforts by U.S. and other allied intelligence agencies to actively sabotage the country's nuclear program.
"Industrial sabotage is a way to stop the program, without military action, without fingerprints on the operation, and really, it is ideal, if it works," says Mark Fitzpatrick, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Non-Proliferation and now Senior Fellow in Non-Proliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

An official inquest concluded that the disaster v in which all 118 crew drowned in the Barents Sea, 135km off the Russian coast v was caused by an accidental explosion of an onboard torpedo.
But Maurice Stradling, a former torpedo engineer and a key figure in the original investigation, believes a new French documentary, The Kursk: A Submarine in Troubled Waters, should change world opinion on the sinking.
"On the balance of probabilities, the Kursk was sunk by an American MK 48 torpedo," said Mr Stradling, formerly a senior member of the British Defence Ministry.
BBC editor Nick Fraser called the claim a "pack of lies" and has refused to air the documentary, which attracted a record audience of more than 4 million when it screened on French TV.
The BBC used Mr Stradling as its main authority for a documentary it made in 2001 v What Sank the Kursk?, in which Mr Stradling theorised that the sinking was caused by the malfunctioning of an old fashioned HTP torpedo.
Mr Stradling, who also appears in the new French documentary, said: "At the time (2001), that was a perfectly reasonable film, given the facts as we knew them then, when there seemed to be no third party involvement,"
The new explanation for the Kursk's downing is based on film footage of a hole in the side of the vessel, and evidence placing US submarines in the area at the time it was sunk.
The French film shows stills of the Kursk raised above the water after being salvaged, with a precise circular hole in its right side. The hole clearly bends inwards, consistent with an attack from outside the submarine.
A US military source in the documentary declares the hole to be the trademark evidence of an American MK 48 torpedo, which is made to melt cleanly through steel sheet due to a mechanism at its tip that combusts copper.
The film suggests the attack happened while two US submarines, the Toledo and Memphis, were shadowing the Kursk in a routine military exercise.
The documentary says the Toledo accidentally collided with the Kursk, at which point the Russian submarine opened its torpedo tubes, leading to an attack from the Memphis, which was protecting the damaged Toledo while it retreated.
The cause of the sinking was covered up at the time in an act of diplomacy between then US presidents Bill Clinton and Russian President Vladimir Putin v a deal that included the cancellation of $US10 billion of Russian debt, the film states.

Those behind the bombing in Moscow’s Metro system, which took 39 lives – and shook the building that houses Russia’s Federal Security Bureau (FSB) – must be "scraped from the bottom of the sewers" and exposed, said Vladimir Putin. But what if that particular sewer leads all the way back to Washington and London?
Russia has accused Chechen rebels of planning and carrying out the suicide bombings, but that may be just the beginning of understanding who and what is behind a long line of terrorist attacks that started in the 1990s and continues to the present day. Last September, Russian-backed Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov told Reuters he had good reason to believe the US and Britain were covertly aiding the Chechen rebels: "We are fighting U.S. and British special services in the mountains,” said Kadyrov:
"There was a terrorist named Chitigov, he worked for the CIA. He had U.S. citizenship. He was a brigadier general under Khattab. When we destroyed him – I led the operation then – we found an American driving license on him, and his other documents were American."
