With a massive force of 4,000 troops and 700 tanks, the US forces have managed to breach the Resistance stronghold positioned in the southern part of Falluja at 3 a.m. this morning.
The US troops using massive air support have been able to completely control the ‘Nazaal’ neighborhood while at the same time occupying parts of ‘Shuhada’ and ‘Jubail’ neighborhoods.
Reports indicate that US forces have not only used mustard gas, nerve gas, and cluster bombs to pave the way for their advance, but that a small neutron bomb has also been used at ‘Kubaysaat’ street which they were unable to capture through conventional methods.
The Iraqi Resistance have lost 132 fighters in this attack including 4 commanders.
On the enemy side, the resistance has reported the destruction of over 80 vehicles as well as the killing of tens of US troops (26 of whom were initially taken as prisoner, but then executed when the Resistance had to evacuate the area). The Resistance has also reported the downing of one fighter plane using a ‘SAM-9’ as well as 3 Apache’s and 5 unmanned planes.
This battle is described as ‘life or death’ fight by one of the Resistance commanders in Falluja who stated that the US have always withdrawn at much smaller losses than what they have suffered today, indicating that this change in political will. The Resistance commander indicated that his top priority is in preserving the lives of the fighters at all costs and to take from the invaders the maximum number of casualties and prisoners achievable.
http://www.islammemo.cc/news/one_news.asp?IDNews=53707
On a side note: Jazeera TV during their afternoon broadcast today (11 a.m. GMT) have confirmed massive explosions in Falluja and were about to go live with a spokesman from Falluja when the presenter suddenly cut to a commercial. When the commercial was over they had changed the subject and Falluja was never mentioned again.

Fallujah will be destroyed most probably now, especially if they are using small tactical WMDs.This is an unwanted escalation in the situation. It seems that they want to destroy Fallujah.Michael Ware of Time Magazine gave a radio interview a month or so back in which he stated that the reason the U.S went into Fallujah was because around the world on the Islamic websites and correspondence Fallujah was known as the Islamic Republic of Iraq, that is what these people called it.That is one of the reasons for it being invaded.
Where does it go from here ? Who knows ? After Battle at Baghdad airport and the Use of a small N.Bomb,it was unfortunately only a matter of time before these were used elsewhere.Fallujah now, then Ramadi,Al Quaim,Tal Afar and other such places in the Future.
This action of the U.S is very unwise, because now the effects from this may lead to a spread of war outside the Middle East.If Islam is getting attacked this way, then its own alternatives are very limited,It either yields or it fights elsewhere.

The Whole Fallujah situation is very sad and yet incredible in all that has happened the last 9 months.
Fallujah is Tiny it is only 4Km Long by 3.5 Km wide.Yet this situation has been going on now for 2 months.I cannot see the Political Logic behind what is happening. Why they just didnt let the 200,000 Fallujans return to their city and move on.It was obviously a massive mistake in trying to take Fallujah, why make matters worse ? The U.S is giving Normal Iraqis the reasons to fight and continue fighting.A few days ago an official stated that there were around 40,000 regular resitance fighters and another 200,000 part time resistance fighters in Iraq. That is 1/4 of million people who pick up a gun and fight,Its over, why kill more people just for " Sour Grapes" Get out of Iraq.

The criminal methods of USA are shocking.
The resistance is not an army with sofisticated weapons or even WMDs. Their strenght is the guerrilla war. Even if the Resistance has to give up Falluja for the moment - I don't believe they will do - this doesnot mean that USA has won. After the USA 'victory' the Resistance start up their own war - the guerrilla. And since no Iraqi police corps wants to take care of the town, the USA has to stay in the town. Then the artrition starts. Tanks and small units in the narrow streets of F. - the ideal warfare for the Resistance.

Good that the Resistance thinks of preserving the lives of the fighters now. Preserve your forces for more advantageous battles.

Since when has logic and the US political been mentionable in the same sentence? If I was the IR I wouldn't capture the USUK scumsuckers. I'd kill them straight away. Then again, I'm not in the IR.
I hope and prey the IR somehow gets some micro nukes to blast these bastards back to the illegal land of scum where they came from. May Allah SWT bless those noble IR who have fallen and may Allah SWT grant those remaining resistors victory.

this is so old, the IR told us of the 700 tanks weeks ago. Remember the debate? The IR told us of the gas attack, weeks ago. The jet shoot down with the "sam9" is from an IR report from almost four weeks ago. I even asked posters for a Sam9 clarification when it was reported. "Preserving the lives of the fighters" that info came out days after the IR first reported the US using chemical weapons, again, almost six weeks ago.
Although isn't Islammemo based in Texas, and didn't some of posters conclude they were a US propaganda mouth piece awhile back?
Anyway, whatever appears in this report happened over a month ago, and last I heard (today's IR report), the Yanks have yet to take Fallujah.

A few months ago, about the POW's. Since the US doesn't observe geneva convention, and since the Resistance where put into the situation that if they left the POW's alive to run off innocent lives would be lost. Then in this case, whatever the resistance decides I respect, i'm not in their situation, and they are the bravest most honourable people of all.

dates? Sure, whatever. I just read the report, and it is a repeat of information that the IR has given over the past eight weeks, since the start of Fallujah2. Some of it verbatum. So you want me to believe that the attack last "night' is a repeat of attacks that were reported in the past. Phew! Awesome. That's like so crystal ballish, no?
Read through the IR reports. I'd dig out the info out for you but that would defeat the purpose of the exercise.
I'll defer to the next few IR reports and then decide whether this report is true.
I'm surprised Blue Sky, an avid reader of IR reports, never picked up on the repeat of the information and 'assumes' from his post that this all happened in the last few days.
We'll know soon enough. Btw, the Iraqi girl blogger has some neat inside info on the s'election and the all male ballot cards which have a street value of $400 I might add. Yes, in Iraq you can buy and sell ballot cards, now, does it get any more democratic than that?
Oh, and the neutron bomb part, the IR never reported that in their reports translated by Mohammud. That would require inside info, look how long it took for info to surface on the neutron at SIA. On the other hand, we have had reports of convoys of bulldozers, and we know from SIA, bulldozers dug up the airport soil and moved it. Hmm?

I was reading an article from Vialls.com a while back with regard to his interpretation on the Bali incident where in his eyes a small tactical device was used. These small tactical device only give out recordable and identifable radioactive sources for 2 or 3 days. With Baghdad because of the size of the area the U.S probably used a lot larger one.taking out an area of between 3 and 5 kilometers.the one our reporter states in Fallujah was to take out a single street,so probably a tiny one.

I think you mean radiation not "radioactivity" :P
let's use google shall we ;) do a bit of research to give us something to talk about.
www.manuelsweb.com/neutronbomb.htm
"Tactical neutron bombs are primarily intended to kill soldiers who are protected by armor."
"When fast neutrons are slowed down, the energy lost can show up as x-rays. Some types of armor, like that of the M-1 tank, employ depleted uranium which can undergo fast fission, generating additional neutrons and becoming radioactive."
Hmmm hide radiation as well as they've hid depleted uranium by product?
www.atomicarchive.com/Fusion/Fusion5.shtml
"The augmented radiation effects mean that blast and heat effects are reduced so that physical structures including houses and industrial installations, are less affected. Because neutron radiation effects drop off very rapidly with distance, there is a sharper distinction between areas of high lethality and areas with minimal radiation doses. This was desired by the forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)..."
After reading this, ask yourself, are the US going to bring in any more inspectors or anyone else with giger counters, to see if a neutron bomb was used in certain districts in Fallujah. Even if they where going to do that (though they wouldn't), they'd have to have captured fallujah first. Where is the resistance going to get giger counters from, and when they get them, which media will publish the results?
You may be able to get rid of alot of the radiation by removing the top soil.

Thanks for your post, was an interesting read.A couple of questions here ,maybe you have an idea. Will the radioactive signature from one of these devices going off be masked by all the DU that is spread around the country.Or can it be specifically identified. The other is if someone is underground are they still killed ?

Neutron bombs were intended to deliver a dose of 80 Gy to produce immediate and permanent incapacitation. A 1 kt ER warhead can do this to a T-72 tank crew at a range of 690 m, compared to 360 m for a pure fission bomb. For a "mere" 6 Gy dose, the distances are 1100 m and 700 m respectively, and for unprotected soldiers 6 Gy exposures occur at 1350 m and 900 m. The lethal range for tactical neutron bombs exceeds the lethal range for blast and heat even for unprotected troops.
The neutron flux can induce significant amounts of short-lived secondary radioactivity in the environment in the high flux region near the burst point. The alloy steels used in armor can develop radioactivity that is dangerous for 24-48 hours. If a tank exposed to a 1 kt neutron bomb at 690 m (the effective range for immediate crew incapacitation) is immediately occupied by a new crew, they will receive a lethal dose of radiation within 24 hours.
Some authorities say that due to the rapid attenuation of neutron energy by the atmosphere (it drops by a factor of 10 every 500 m in addition to the effects of spreading) ER weapons are only effective at short ranges, and thus are practical only in relatively low yields. These ER warheads are said to be designed to minimize the amount of fission energy and blast effect produced relative to the neutron yield. The principal reason is said to be to allow their use close to friendly forces
The neutron absorption spectra of air is disputed, and may depend in part on absorption by hydrogen from water vapor. It therefore might vary exponentially with humidity, making high-altitude neutron bombs immensely more deadly in desert climates than in humid ones. This effect also varies with altitude.
" emerging civilians (who would however have to wait several days for certain short-lived isotopes to decay)" ... only days

I'm not absolutely sure, but will try to find out.
I think with time it will be harder and harder to identify, especially with the DU spread around the area.
But who will check those areas before the time is up?

I like the way your mind works, questioning and re-examining points, thats a good thing gives a lateral way of seeing the event. No it escaped me.You are right that on a couple of occassions there have been mentioned up to 700 tanks and 4000 marines entering Fallujah and there was a report in which the resistance destroyed about 70-80vehicles.I dont know how true this report is,we will see in the next few days.I feel it is quite genuine because of the political situation, they want Fallujah resolved before any So called election. That may indicate a full on assault and hold on the town. The other is the amount of resistance that was killed 132 is an awful lot..The last is i had not heard before that any N bombs were used in Fallujah,so this seems a first and the Resistance themselves stating "A life and death battle"?
Just looking at that leads me to think a battle has happened there.

At the airport, the ameroisraeli could very well have used chem weapons and the earth removal was to remove traces of this. But that is just speculation.

Are you speaking about the same Russia that put its head in the sand when their economic and strategic interests in Iraq were blown away in March 2003 by the US invasion?
The same Russia that watched in silence as Afghanistan became one large US base and the caspien oil contracts began flowing to US companies?
The same Russia that watched in silence as Georgia and then Ukraine fell in the Us camp with riged elections and strong arm tactics?
I think you underestimate the fear that nations have of the US and that they would not only remain silent about what the US does in Iraq (nuetron wepons or otherwise), but they even remain silent when the US arrogantly slaps them in the face and they can do nothing about it.
The sadistic rapists who dropped atomic bombs on men women and children in Hiroshema and Nagasaki are still with us...The silence of the world then is no different from the silence now.

The IRF still strongly hold "that his top priority is in preserving the lives of the fighters at all costs and to take from the invaders the maximum number of casualties and prisoners achievable."
The lost of such bombs is just tactical lost, not strategic lost.
However, in some certain situation, specific tactic can trun over ezisting strategy that the IRF has always realized. That means the IRF has provided essential counter attack in coming days at the right places as well.

That a major battle took place today is in no doubt since it can be correlated by the Jazeera reports today of major bombings in the neighborhoods known to be in the south of falluja.
Latest Islammemo report shows that 'Nazaal' neighborhood is lost to the US forces while the other two areas mentioned in the report ‘Shuhada’ and ‘Jubail’ have been reclaimed by the Resistance.
Estimates of todays fighting thus far reports 450 dead US soldiers, 140 tanks and APC's destroyed, 53 Hummers...total of 5 helicopters (3 are the Apaches mentioned in the original report), 1 fighter (mentioned in original report), 6 unmaned planes (5 mentioned in original report).
Resistance losses thus far are 145 dead as well as the loss of light and heavy weapons to the bombings.

It was not so long ago that Russian troops were murdering Afganistanis who are Islamic and within Chechneya. In answer to the points you made about Russias inaction is that Russia is run by the Oligarchy (Putin was put in place by these people) the Oligarchy bow to the same people Bush and the U.S bow too.
Russias inaction is not out of fear for anyone. It is done because Russia just like America are controlled by outside interests.Putin is known as the Grey Cardinal the Ex-Head of the KGB.He would never have got and held that position unless he signed his blood oath to them.Gorbachev,Yeltsin Putin,Bush are the same ilk.

Some of the descriptions of this Falllujah battle seem to be old news, and I have been suspicious for a long time about "Islammemmo", they alway seem to put a large sprinkle of US propaganda in their reports which tends to spoil the whole thing. You maybe right. But what i will say is that when on Nov 12th Everyone was saying Fallujah was taken Islammemmo was saying the fighting was going on.On Nov 20th Islammeo was saying there was still fighting,On dec 8th Islammemo was saying there was still fighting, when all the news services were quiet finally around December 14th other news services started saying "there was still fighting in Fallujah".So Islam meemo is quite accurate at least with reporting fighting is occuring.Probably what is troubling you and most people is the quantity of casualties and equipment loss in Fallujah reporting. But if there are large scale assaults on an area that is well defended that will cause heavy casualties. When the Soviets were fighting inside Berlin they the Soviets were taking 20,000 casualties a day.

They can use alle the spin they want on the events in iraq, in the end it doesn't matter. What matters are what really happens on the ground. Everyone in Europe seems to feel now the USA is losing this war, although the media do everything to hide it. I look at my collegues: the ones that were always against this war speak up loudly and the pro's turn into turncoats. Why? Because what happened on the ground makes the difference.

However, concerning the use of a neutron bomb, I don't think there can be "half measures". The whole thing will have to go critical to explode, and a certain minimum amount of fuel would be needed for that.
If a neutron bomb was released to release massive amounts of radioactive particles without causing physical damages and radiation, it would have to be well up in the sky above its target.
Ionising radiation would be emitted in all directions, and would be detectable (could even interfere with electronics) at quite considerable distances. If there is no evidence of this - no nuclear device was used.

Massive US Assualt Underway In Fallujah; Situation Grim
Jan 06, 2005
JUS News Desk
In massive assault, US forces have burst into southern part
of al-Fallujah. Most intense fighting ever under way. Resistance commander calls for the prayers of the Muslims. High casualties are beeing reported and at the time of this report, the situation is grim.
In a dispatch posted at 10:45am Mecca time Mafkarat al-Islam reported that extremely massive and fierce fighting was under way in the neighborhoods of ash-Shuhada', and al-Jubayl in al-Fallujah. US aggressor troops broke into the southern part of the city and seized control of the an-Nazal neighborhood as Resistance fighters withdrew from that district into ash-Shuhada' where they were at the time of reporting waging extremely grueling combat with the
American attackers on the edge of the ash-Shuhada' and
al-Jubayl neighborhoods. US troops are backed by F-18
and F-16 fighter bombers and are using heavy
artillery, tanks, armored vehicles, and laser-guided
missiles.
Shaykh Abu Nur, a Resistance leader, told the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam there that "the battle broke out when the US army attacked the an-Nazal neighborhood at 3am this Thursday morning. Grueling battles along all possible approaches, with the Resistance fighters inflicting great losses on the enemy. The battles continued until 8am, after which they the Resistnace pulled back based on orders from the military command after the attackers threw internationally prohibited gases on the Resistance fighters, including mustard gas, nerve gasses, and burning gasses in addition to the use of cluster bombs. Most likely on al-Kubaysat street they used a "nuclear tinged" weapon after they had been unable earlier to break in."
Shaykh Abu Nur said that Resistance observers reported that the Americans pushed more than 4,000 soldiers and 700 tanks and armored vehicles forward. "We have been able to destroy 80 vehicles and killed dozens of soldiers and took 26 American prisoner. The Resistance killed them after we resolved to withdraw from the neighborhood, since transporting them would have been extremely difficult. Among them were seven high-ranking officers. The occupation forces now control an-Nazal but this is not the end."
Shaykh Abu Nur went on, "We have lost 132 fighters who
were all martyred in the fighting by aircraft attacks.
Four of the Resistance commanders were among the
dead. But we harvested as much as we wanted of them
the enemy troops and their losses were very heavy."
He added, "We shot down a fighter plane with a SAM9.
We also downed three Apache helicopters and five
unmanned spy planes."
"Right now we are fighting on the edges of the ash-Shuhada' and al-Jubayl neighborhoods. I don't know whether they or we will win, because their attack
is as close as it can come to a suicidal assault.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam asked Abu Nur whether he thought the Americans could break into the areas now held by the Resistance. Abu Nur replied, "if they get in there, you won't hear my voice any more, because I will have departed this world, and I hope to hear your voice in Paradise, God willing."
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam and eyewitnesses report that al-Fallujah now is a flaming ball of fire and smoke, where one can't see anything.
Abu Nur concluded his interview with an intense call on Muslims: "We ask you not to forget us in your prayers. We ask you not to forget us in your prayers. Today is your day, so don't be stingy with us. We have no people except you, and our brothers with us. God! God! God be with us!
